Jim,

I have two BW G3's at home, a Rev 1 and a Rev 2. The
Rev 1 is basically the same machine you just
purchased.They are both used by my teenage daughters.
Other than the additional drive issue, I have not seen
any problems with the Rev 1. 

It is very dependable and stable. The Rev 1 is used by
my younger daughter and is running 10.3 with 256k of
ram. She runs AIM, iTunes and e-mail at the same time
on a consistent basis with no problems. If you got it
at a "very reasonable price" I'd say keep it if it
meets your needs.
