I have one new Raedon 7000 MAC Edition that I would like to install but am confused by conflicting information. First, it was purchased for the Beige, was improperly installed and damaged partially due to poor instructions which resulted in a big mess and the unit was nicely replaced at no charge by Radon. After getting my B&W I unsuccessfully tried to install the new Radon. I had not noticed that the new Radon requires a G4 processor.
WHA???
That card does NOT require a G4 processor. You should be able to just pull out the old video card, pop in the new one, close up the box and go. 10.2 already has the drivers built in.
I understand that Apple does not support G4 on B&W. Is there a work around to install a new G4 ZIF?
There was one firmware upgrade that disabled a G4 on the B&W. That's since been superseded by another firmware upgrade that removed the limitation, but G4 upgrades are readily available for the B&W.
