i'm thinking of getting a cable/dsl router/switcher.

either a belkin or linksys....

but i've read a lot of reviews about problems with routers
and little to no support for mac users from the manufacturers.

can anyone recommend a good 4 port router for a g4 and g3s?

i have an Asante FriendlyNET FR1104-G wireless router, with four wired ports. It's worked great so far (only had it for a few weeks), although right now the wireless function isn't being used. If you don't need wireless, they also make the FR1004, which is considerably less expensive. Asante has always been pretty good about supporting Macs, too. Hope this helps!

I'd second that. I have an FR1004 and it's been great. They're really cheap now too
($28 at buy.com with free shipping and a $10 rebate).
