Normally I admire your posts for their accuracy, wit and informed nature, Bruce, but your above statement is dead wrong, and has been for more than a year. I'm sending this via a two-way Direcway DW6000 satellite broadband modem connection. I've been using it to get online with a mixture of Macs and PCs for more than a year. You might want to surf on over to
http://www.direcway.com and find out what you've been missing.
Hmm, Last time I looked it was insanely expensive...like $800 to install and well north of $150 a month, whenever it was finally available; it had been in the 'any day now' category for a long time.
It's still pricey...$100 a month for the network service alone, or $60 if I drop $600 on them to start.
This is more than I'd spend on cable service. If I had no options, this is a steal, but I'm mostly whinging about the high costs all around.
Thanks for letting me know about this, though, I know some folks who may be interested...
