what

Apple proprietary.

The reason I ask is that I was thinking of removing the
floppy drive and perhaps replacing it with and second Hard Drive or
something. Does anyone know? Is this do-able? Thanks in advance.

Anything that will fit in the bay will work, HD, Zip, etc. You just need to get a new IDE or SCSI cable that will reach to the bay and do some plastic cutting if you are adding a removable drive. Also, check the rom in your Mac. If it is a rev 1, you will need to update it to a rev 2 or 3 to run a slave drive on the on board IDE.
