.rm files are, or at least may be, sound files (RM = Real Media); I've got
a bunch on my PC that came with the player. More commonly they're .ra,
(Real Audio).

.ram files are the ones with the pointers, eg one could consist of the text
lines:
http://www.yourserver.com/yourdirectory/song1.ra
http://www.yourserver.com/yourdirectory/song2.ra
