as far as the screw in the G4 towers...that is seriously the least quality 
ive ever seen from apple.  those are the cheapest thing Ive ever seen in a Mac.
if you havent already, you may want to try to get the screw out from the 
bottoim of the case.  Thats where it ends, right at the bottom.  Maybe dremel a 
slit in the bottom and use a flat head in that.  Youll probably scratch the 
case, but its on the bottom where none sees it.  And there wont be any shaving 
inside the case.  And you dont run the risk of destroying the threads with a 
drill.  Your computer may not be worth 100,000 dollars on antiques roadshow in 
the 
year 2185, thats the only drawback I can think of.
