I was there when the store opened at 8:30 this
morning. I'm typing this on the G3. =o)

It wasn't quite so easy, as this one had the "security
strip" or whatever attached to the bottom front. I bought
first and took it apart later, but I think I have a Rev 2
mobo (from what's silk screened on the board, and
because it has the "Rage Pro" graphics) and Rev C.
ROMs (judging from ASP).

I got a Raytheon!

Yep, that 8.1 install was messed up, half the things I
clicked on in the control panels said "this needs 8.5 to
run." I did a clean install of 9.1, and now the DVD player
works!

Maybe they mean it is PC100 that will clock down to
PC66? Maybe some PC100 will not or something.

I've noticed!

Well, I'll need to get my stuff off it first. I got a little
excited and took the TwinTurbo PCI video card out of it
and put it in the G3 right away, and now I'm running
dual monitors on the G3, and it's very nice. This
computer will be getting the S900's USB card too,
shortly.

Only thing is, I need to put the S900's video card back in
it, and hook it back up because it's the only computer I
have that can read the fancy fast SCSI drive that is in it.
If it was "normal" SCSI I'd just move it over to the G3's
free drive bay.

Once I get all settled in on the new computer, the
SuperMac will probably be kept as a backup.

Thanks for all your helpful information!
