Should I be worried about failure on either of these [drives] in the near

between SCSI and ATA drives?

That is a can o wyrms.

I "read somewhere" that SCSI was considered more of a "business" standard,
and hence more expensive/reliable as a result.

modern SCSI drives are made for server use and typically run faster, and may have better bearings, and are more expensive to make, as the controller is more complicated.

ATA drives have earned a reputation as cheap, but increasingly, the mechanisms are the same, it's just the controller and the cost that's different. It's just uneconomical for the companies to make then any other way.

There may be some difference at the very high end, but typically servers are built with better power supplies, rarely turned off, and pretty much always have professional-grade UPS'es on them.

That's what accounts for the greater longevity of 'business' standard drives.
