I am moving from VPC 5 XP Home (updated to 5.04) to VPC 7 XP Pro.... snip... and I still may find the G3 700 ibook won't cut it.

I find VPC/WXP Pro painfully slow on a G4/800 with 512MB of RAM allocated to VPC/WXP.

But I can't find anything in the OS that looks like the large, drive-space-consuming windows files. And the VPC file is not that big. Where is it all hiding?

Not sure about VPC5, but with VPC 6 the VPC application is in your applications folder. There should be two folders inside your Documents Folder of your User File, that contain the rest of it.

But, for reference, I believe someone on this list stated that VPC and the windows app do not have to be installed on the same partition as OS X. Can anyone verify or dispute this?

With VPC 6 I have everything on a separate partition. I access them via Alias's from OS 9 and OSX.

Thanks, Nancy.
Strange... I have yet to see my original post sent from the list server, just this reply. Maybe my ISP filtered it as spam. Hey, it JUST showed up... well after I sent it... and your reply.

Does not bode well for my iBook 700 G3. I will try to keep the tasks simple but my does frequency scanning and may not work well or at all if the system can't keep up.

Yep, 4.2 GB of XP Home in my user file. Do you have any idea whether the VPC7 and Win XP Pro will install over the older version 5 w/ XP Home?
