Make sure it's your user and you have writing capabilities. Also, toward the top of the box,
make sure the program isn't locked. I got my aw 6 the same way you did. I'm now on 10.3.7
and had no problem upgrading any of it. My whole app is fully functional.

Are you installing from an account that has Administrator Permissions?
