Woz's plane crash is well documented (for example, see Owen Linzmayer's "Apple Confidential 2.0", Page 28). Assuming the account is accurate, it was a single-engine Beechcraft. If Jobs had staged a similar crash, it is hard to imagine that it would not have been equally well documented.
