Hello all, I have a very strange issue to report (at
least very strange to me). This will be a very long

Frustrated, I thought OS 9.2.2 may be the culprit, so I completely reformatted my HD and put a fresh copy of 9.1 back on the machine. To my dismay, plugging the JumpDrive in after this caused the same affect of freezing.

I'd try reformatting the Jump drive, either on the PC or on the Mac (as a MS DOS disk).

It could also be a bum drive. I love my lexar flash cards for my camera, never a hiccup, but oddly, we've had a number of people have various problems with the JumpDrive USB sticks.

If they use the same circuitry as their JumpDrive flash cards that might be the culprit. Their flash cards come (or used to come) with a small USB reader for free, because the USB circuitry's actually incorporated into the card, the cable was just a converter.

I had all sorts of problems, like mounting the card, and dismounting it using that thing that went away when I started using a conventional flash card reader.
