If you don't need to trade-in the G3, go for a nice powerbook - and go wireless. Then start 'leap-frogging' through your upgrades - G3 -> ?; then PBk -> ?; etc A late generation TiBk comes to mind (867MHz or 1GHz CPU) That will aloow you to boot directly into OS 9 as well, if that's a consideration.
