OK, I'm willing to pretend to have an open mind. I'm still running OS 8.6 on a 7600 (because my newly acquired G3 -- thanks, everyone who offered to email a manual, got it -- came without a modem and I'm still waiting for *that* to arrive). The trouble with upgrading to X, if I understand things right which maybe I don't, is that it's also necessary to get all new software, and that can run into real money. But if you've still got one of those dust-gathering Jaguars or Panthers, let me know off list and I'll install it and see what transpires. BTW, sorry to beat a dead horse even one more time (though having joined this list just yesterday I didn't realize the poor old nag had been keelhauled quite so thoroughly): a download of iCab fixed my PayPal problem very effectively.
