I think Wade's point was that those features should be part of the OS, and that people who want them shouldn't have to pay extra and rely on third-party apps/hacks that can compromise the stability of the system.
I for one is glad that Apple agree with me that quality and stabilty (and 15 other qualities) are far more important than personal gadgets.
OS X rules!!
