But I'd still like to use the monitor! So, I look around and ask myself: what would be the best thing to do?
Well I could:
a.) Buy a PowerMac G5
b.) Buy a newer PowerMac G4, one that is compatible with an ADC Video card
c.) resell the monitor on eBay and try to get all the money I invested in it
after careful considerations I've decided to do: #B and I've chosen:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5757350419
as the candidate for upgrade! There are multiple advantages to upgrading a Sawtooth to a DA, and that is: Faster bus speed 133, versus 100MHz. AGP 4X as opposed to AGP 2X, most importantly is the ADC compatible video card support!
Here's the game plan:
Buy the DA for 250~350
Transfer memory, hard drive, and CPU upgrade card
Sell the ATI radeon 9800 Pro w/128MB video memory
Buy, and install a semi comparable ADC compatible Video card
I'm sure with this upgrade I'd be able to achieve an additional 10 - 20 point increase in X-Bench scoring over that of the current PowerMac G4 giving this system a 20 - 30 point advantage over the eMac 1.25GHz!!!
so: Tell me if I'm crazy! or if I should wait a few months and save my pennies for a PowerMac G5 and live with what I have now for the time being!

P.S. I think I would ultimately be happier with the G5, but would also be happy to play more around with my PM G4s!
