Low End Mac prides itself on creating helpful online communities, and to date we have tried to deal with trouble makers by banning them while keeping our lists open to all comers. Because a few individuals have abused our trust, it's time to expose them. I've received several reports that individuals using the names Eric Ribecky, Eric Camevoli, Craig Washington, Kimberly Ballard, TheCraigLaw, and others have posted items to the Swap List, received payment, and not shipped them to members of this community. These individuals may have used the names of friends and a variety of email addresses to subscribe and post items to the list. To prevent them from joining under any new address, I have closed the subscription list. Because these individuals use aliases and assorted email addresses, I cannot be assured that they are not now on the list - blocking new subscriptions will prevent them from adding a new address to our database. We urge members of the list to be extremely cautious when dealing with sellers in Wisconsin or Georgia. (If you pay with PayPal or a credit card, you can reverse payment for nondelivery. If you send funds through the mail, the US Postal Service can investigate this as mail fraud.) We also urge any of you who believe you have been defrauded by these or others members of the list to post details here: dates, email addresses, the name of the seller, mailing address and phone number if available, and the details of the failed transaction. AND: I know many of you are relieved to 'hear' this. We do what we can on the list to make things run as efficiently as possible. As Dan stated, posting a bad swap is permitted. But as Dan has also stated in past posts, sending emails to the list saying 'where's my stuff, ****' or discussing what happened with whom is still not permitted. No discussions. Each buyer and seller is expected to allow sufficient time for the transaction without abusing each other or the list. I am also doing some editing on the list. I may ask some of you for full names and address' to confirm what you have submitted for your subscription since some of you didn't put your correct name down. You will be temp banned from posting until compliance and full banned upon non-compliance. This is strictly for list user protection and I will continue to help each one of you as much as I can.
