Had the same on several Macs (9500/G3, Beige and B&W) under 9.1, 9.2.1 and
9.2.2 using SCSI Zips (int. + ext.) and Jaz (ext.).
Instead using the Iomega driver with came with the OS 9.x.x install, I used
the sw on CD with came with an ext. SCSI Zip 250 and an ext. SCSI Jaz 2GB.
Never had any problem since.
