I just tried again, with MacDraw II set to 6000... it opened, but the window was full of colored lines.
This sounds like a video driver problem. What video card are you using?
The standard B&W Rev A card, I've forgotten the specifics. I'm running thousands of colors at 1024x768 on this 19" SuperMac. Someone else uses the program successfully on OS9.x at 1152x870 and thousands of colors.
To repeat what I told him:
MacDraw is really bugging me. When I first set-up the (gremlin-infested) 9600 G3 I was using previously, I was using OS9.1, this very 36gb HD (now installed in the b&w) and a 1710 monitor. MD II ran just fine, but eventually began to do funny things (can't remember what, now, except for saving problems) and in the end became unusable. But why did it work initially?? Could it be some incompatible software that I might have installed later?
Rats... can't convert them. MD Pro won't open a MD II file, or even SEE one. I did it on the 6116, as I could open a file, select All and Paste into a new Pro file. Hmmm... the 6116 is working again... guess I can do the conversion there and transfer them on a Zipdisc. But from what I remember, converting moves lines, spaces & text around a bit, and makes the page edges run where I DON'T want them... and changing paper size in the Page Setup merely makes them cut in a different unwanted place.
Another option, can you Save As pict format and open it in MD Pro?
I can't open at all in MD II. But these programs have no format options, so no PICT etc. They are drawing files, not images.
Double rats... converted them, moved them to the B&W... and I can make alterations and save ONCE per launching of the application. If I try to save again I get the error message (I'd forgotten about this) "Sorry, there is not enough room on this disk. 1k more bytes are needed". How do I fix THIS? Bumping memory allocation to 8000 didn't help...
Saving to the HD or the zip? I remember having this problem once and cannot remember the solution.
Hard drive. I just use the Zip to transfer files... extremely useful.
Have you run your favorite disk utility lately?
No, but when I did it didn't help (TechTool Lite, DiskWarrior).
Do you have VM set high?
VM set to 512M.
Searched for invisible files? Sorry, grasping at straws here.
That may be all there is to grasp... unfortunately it seems one has broken the camel's back...
