This point jogged my memory...someone (on another list?) had a problem
running MacDraw II on modern Macs. They eventually figured out that MD was
written in such a way (back in the day of small hard drives, but defying
Apple's own guidelines not to make assumptions about the hardware, of
course) that it could save to a drive only in the first gigabyte -- once
that had filled up, you would get an error message that there either wasn't
enough memory or drive space or something like that.

At least that's the way I remember it...in any event, that would explain why
you can save to a Zip cartridge, but not to your hd, once it filled up over
1 GB.
