I just bought a new Mac Mini with 512Mb RAM. After turning it on, it chimes, then for about 20 seconds the screen is blank / getting no signal, then it shows the Apple/Cogwheel, then blue login, then it's done. I'm pretty sure that during the no-screen phase, it's doing a memory test. On my Yikes! I could disable memory tests under 9.x.x....but the Mini can't boot 9.x.x! Is there a [firmware] hack to disable startup memory tests? It only happens after a cold boot...not after a resart.
Thanks, Dallas -- *The box said "Windows 98 or better", so I bought a Mac:) -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
