Problem is, if I let it go to sleep, when it wakes up, it runs suuuuuper slooooooow--like molasses.
Are you running a screen saver or any other extension that might get involved when the system reawakens? Sounds like a problem I had many years ago on System 7 or 8. Turned out to be a freeware extension I was running. Got rid of that and things went back to normal. YMMV.
