Hi Victoria - I have the same Blue & White as you do Rev 1, which I believe is a bit of a "lemon" albeit still quite nice. Have you fooled around with the jumpers on the back, you know master/slave things? The Blue & White is real touchy about a LOT Of things I am learning. Also, you did a pure replacement of the original CD drive, right? And you can't put anything but an internal zip on the other cable just below the CD drive. And you can't put another drive on the same cable as the original hard drive, that's where the corruption comes into play. Your best bet is to get a PCI IDE card (I finally gave up and got one from macsales for a premium price, but well worth it!) even then the Blue & White is grumpy about stuff. Like which slots you put the damn PCI cards in! We have another lady here who also has a Blue & White just like us, maybe she'll chime in. And of course we want to hear from the Mac Genii! My current problem is every time I start up from complete shut down, I get a screen with vertical stripes all across it. A real puzzler. But no one here has figured it out yet, as have I. One of these days....!!! I am running OS 9 (booted into 9 not classic) most of the time, and have X (Jaguar) on it with a Sonnet 800 mhz upgrade card, I couldn't install OS X at ALL without it. So you're looking at dropping another couple of hundred into the Blue & White, but honestly I love the little bugger, even with all of its faults. Max the RAM as much as you can, too. It's cheap, at Macsales 256 MB is $25.00. I think OS X will run better and faster if I maxxed it out to 1 GB (that's 4 256 sticks). I still can't boot into classic from X tho. Gets stuck at the very end (and takes hours to get there!). I'm sure the listers must be getting sick of me asking questions, but honestly they are the nicest bunch of genii you could ever want to email!
