It works for me. Win98 is running on my work system right now. I'm pretty sure it's the SE version.
Notice, QemuX doesn't work if you try to install it from the CD (one of the options from QemuX) That's why I separately made the disk image, started QemuX and set the properties for the 'computer' to boot from the CD image.
I've tried it with WIn2K, but I keep getting told that the CD is not a bootable image.
