iTunes is supposed to be able to play WAVE files, is it not?
They download as Quicktime files and so far, will only play in Quicktime Player. I've tried to directly download into iTunes, changed the 'open application' on each file to iTunes in 'Get Info' , tried to import... nothing works. Changing them in 'Get Info' changes the icon but not the ability to play or import them. Setting them back to open in Quicktime does not change the icon back to quicktime WAV but Quicktime can again play them.
Directly downloading the files into iTunes puts them into my User > Music > Itunes> Itunes Music > Unknown Artist > Unknown album but then I am unable to access it from the main iTunes App Source Library or playlists. Can't import them or drag them into the iTunes Library.
It appears there is something about these particular WAV files that iTunes does not like. (A Windows-related thing?) Can anyone figure what it is or if there is a way to convert them? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Mike
