I can confirm that this is true.

But I'm still not clear how to configure the machine in either X or 9 (need them
both.)  I did get the Beige to see the internet when the airport modem was on
line but I couldn't figure out how to go on and offline from the Beige.  

Still working on it and getting closer.  I'm learning a few things too,  But I
would value some help.
