I just ordered an ADSL line with IP telephony. Flat monthly rate, no metering of talk time.

Just wondering: is there anything I need to do about security now that I will be online 24 hours? Turn on the firewall?

Better safe than sorry - it's probably worth sticking your firewall on. OSX comes with a very decent and powerful firewall, but your options for configuring it from the GUI are quite limited. Have a google on 'osx firewall' - you'll turn up a lot of very useful and indepth information.
