If I want to use a USB card adapter (for PCMCIA, Flash, Smart, etc.) do I need a USB PCI card first?
Not if you have only USB 1.1 devices. The B&W has two built-in USB 1.1 ports.
If so, since Bruce tells me the G3 is USB 1.1,
do I need a 1.1 PCI card and a 1.1 adapter.
Or does one just add the 2.0 card and adapter and it funnels down to 1.1 speeds?
If you have USB 2.0 devices, then you need to add an appropriate PCI card, or settle for USB 1.1 speed.
But, I'm not ready to upgrade my camera so I need the flashcard adapter.
I've been using a PCMCIA flash card adapter to transfer photos.
USB media-card readers now cost very little.
