Well, there is an U160 terminator at the end of the cable. That has always
been there. I have tried the HD on 2 different connectors, and turned the
termination on the harddrive itself on and off. BTW, if I have a
terminator at the end of the cable, should I turn the termination on
the harddrive itself on?
The chain is already terminated, so you don't need or want the HD
itself to be terminated. Or... Remove the terminator on the cable
and enable the termination on the drive.
ONE terminator at each end of the chain.
Ill do some research on the SCSI card itself, pull it out look at it, etc.
But knowing how everything SHOULD be set is where Id like to start. One last
question, does it matter which connector of the cable I use?
It shouldn't.
I was reading an Adaptec guide someone sent to me and it said you
should add drives farthest away first.
Never heard of that.
Um... Double check that the card is providing termination power. If
it isn't, then enable that on the drive. Also check to make sure
that the drives are spinning up. Make sure the drive isn't set on
some spin up delay. (long shot, but worth checking)
