The CD type isn't important, just whether the machine has a slot for an airport
card or not.
The 500-700 Mhz iMacs have airport card slots - specs are here:
http://manuals.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Manuals/specs/imac/L14878A_EN.pdf
So all you need to do is buy the appropriate card and insert it.
As for networking it, the types of other machines on the network also shouldn't
be important. Just so long as she can connect to the router/base station. You
should find that to be as easy (or easier) than doing the same with your Wintel
boxes.

Hi all -
My daughter has an Imac Power PC 750 (33.11) 600 MGZ,
Snow in color.
I'd like to install an Airport card in it for her, but
not sure whether I need an adaptor for it or not. It
does have a slot load CD.
She will be networking this Imac in a house with PC's
also connected to the network. Any help in directing
me to documents on how to do this kind of network so
that her Imac will work will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
