That sure sounds like the Apple Service Documentation CD, or a copy legal or otherwise, of one.

More than likely the REASON it's a CDR written on with magic marker is that this isn't the first time a tech has forgotten the CD was in a clients' system ;-) Most of our installer CD's look much the same...
