When I turned on my G3 B&W instead of the normal screen everything had
expanded beyond the boundaries of the monitor: the Mac welcome square
occupied more than half. Also the color was a dim brown.
I restarted to find the same effect but then slowly everything shrunk
back to normal size and color, functioning OK and on a subsequent
restart it was also normal.
What do you think is going on here? Something screwy with the monitor?
Previously when put to sleep with Eudora off-line but open the G3
would sometimes hang. I wonder if there's any connexion? Thanks for
your help.

Some information stored in PRAM includes:
Display and video settings such as refresh rate, screen resolution,
number of colors
Time zone setting
Startup volume choice
Speaker volume
Recent kernel panic information, if any
DVD region setting
Sound like you might need a new "PRAM" battery.
