Mine is Epson SC740 --- end of quote --- The epson 740 and older models have parallel and serial interfaces, if I remember correctly. Your G4 hasn't got serial and the printer connection is usually usb. There may be workarounds/hacks like usb to serial cables etc, but your money would be better spent on a new printer with a usb interface, as almost all have nowadays. The cable would cost like $40 and a brand new Epson printer, at leaset as good as your 740, maybe $80 and you'd have up to date technology and a much simpler connection to the printer. Also your Panther drivers would be match the printer. ATA is just a newer version of IDE.
