trying to decide about switching from windoze to Mac _ just received a B&W G3 _ hooked up the monitor, keyboard & mouse, hit the start button & heard the chime but all that shows on the monitor is a file folder alternating between a question mark & the apple face_
Means your Mac can't find a vaild system to boot from - prolly either no hard drive connected or no OS installed. The B&W is easy to open and do a visual inspection to check drive connections, etc. Also, if you have any System CDs try booting from that (hold down 'C' key during startup) and see what happens.
