OS 9 did not provide anyway to print to PDF like OS X does. Acrobat (the full version, not just Reader) was required to do so.

I know that, and I had (still have) Acrobat (not just Reader) for exactly that purpose. And it works: I just restarted in 9, "printed" the pdf, and sent it out to where it had to go. But what a nuisance! The question is, why won't Acrobat work in *classic* under X, why is it necessary to do a restart?
