Well, since I started this thread I'll just give my 2 cents worth on my experience over the years with keyboards and mice.

I've been using computers long enough so that the first of mine, an Apple II clone and a Yamaha (which did general computing but was used more for electronic music) had no mice. Totally keyboard controlled and a lot of DOS code to type too. My first mouse was with my Amiga and what a boon it was, just to have it, and not have to type everything from the kb.

Apple certainly improved things with the large and later pro kb's on early Macs but the square-ish mouse was not great with its big centre button. A definite improvement was the later curvy mouse that fitted my hand perfectly - but only one button still.

Apple never made a better kb, IMNSHO, than those big ADB pro jobs. I still have two and will use one on an ancient LC575 when I resurrect it for some music programs that will run on it & nothing later.

Didn't like the new white smaller 'pro' kb, its mouse even less; never tried the puck but was warned off it; the black key kb is tolerable. But my all time favorite is my current Logitech wireless: no cords, FKeys that work plus other useful buttons, and a nice positive tactile feel as well. With the companion wireless 4-button & wheel mouse which I use more with my fingers than my palm I feel I have a great ergonomic solution. (Until something better comes along, maybe...)
