Hello again,
Has anyone used an external floppy drive (USB) for any reason?
Months ago I bought a Sony 2x speed floppy disk drive and just
tonight finally got around to opening the box and trying to use it.
I obviously never expected any problems, or I would have tried it
right away...

Do I have a bum drive, or am I missing something? Back in 1991 this
set of clip art was about $300 and even though it's "old"... now it
is a matter of principle... and I WANT IT!
Any help or thoughts would be welcome.
Some of the OLDER floppies, even if they are the 1.44 MB (or whatever
is the current) will not read in OS 9. I had some games, etc. from
the early 90's and they would read and play on my son's iMac that was
8.6 but once we went to 9 they were just gone/invisible. I have an
iMation USB Floppy drive that I use for my Sony Mavica floppies and
it works great but it won't take anything except more current
floppies - so all that neat old floppy-ware I find is lost to me as
well.
If you have a school or a Mac club/user group close maybe someone has
an older system and machine that can read them for you and either let
you download them or move them to a newer floppy.
