I hope folks realize that Comcast is blowing smoke, about "only one
computer per cable internet connection." They merely figured out that
they could make some bucks from renting the routers to folks, along
with/on top of the cable modem rental.Basically, Comcast is telling
people that "you can only have one computer hooked to your Comcast cable
Internet connection," then in the next breath "but we can rent you a
'special router', so that you'll be able to network your computers on
this one connection." I can remember when I had Comcast Digital
Cable/Comcast Cable Internet, when it was all fairly new to
Indianapolis, and there was only ONE price for the cable Internet. After
I had to move away from Indy, thus having to give up my Comcast cable
goodies, they'd figured out how to make even more money off the cable
Internet, by selling different speed options.
