So if you can just run your optical drive as a slave it should work fine. Maybe this is bad for performance reasons, and maybe you would lose the ability to boot from the optical drive; Im not that familiar with ATA. Certainly if you are using a PCI ATA or SCSI then one onboard ATA bus should be enough. And if you dont plan on having more than 4 internal harddrives and 1 optical drive, you wont miss the ZIP bay being lost. Hmm, maybe Ill do this to mine.
