As for a more general issue: if you're getting brownouts bad enough to hurt your systems you need a UPS on 'em ASAP.

My Adaptec 2930CU PCI SCSI card has never worked with my Atlas III disk drive in 10.3.X Even though it shows up in the System Profile the drive won't mount on the desktop. If there is a disk in my iomega Zip 100 (SCSI) drive it works okay but not the Atlas III.

Without making any changes except for selecting a disk that has a 9.2.2 Operating System the Atlas III mounts on the desktop after the boot process is complete. Go figure!
