I don't recall doing anything special when I tried a few SCSI cards in my 7600 or 7300, my HDs on the card booted up fine if remember, and I don't think there was any special drivers for them that I had to put on. I have an Adaptec u2b and an atto and some other scsi card that came with my scanner all lying about doing nothing much... So, if I am not mistaken, the 7300 can "naturally" recognise the scsi hd on a PCI card but the G4 I am getting might not? I can start the machine from a CD anyway... I will see. I am trembling with excitement. The excitement is this: if it does not work right I might have to go and hunt down and kill and be jailed for life. Who would not get a little tremble from this? They give me 7 days guarantee, no keyboard or mouse (I have a mouse for it, will buy or borrow a keyboard) and there is no mention of any software at all. So I just need to ensure it works right and then I can relax, carry on my work on my 7300, which will behave itself because it will damn well know that the slightest stumble will cause it to be sidelined in favour of the QS sitting in the wings.
