I have these 3 ATA drives Ive been trying to get to work with

refurbished IBM
Deskstar I think, which was a little loud when I first got it. Ive
formatted
these drives with Disk Utility but still encounter problems, such

mounting and freezing my system. And I have a 6GB OEM apple drive,

everything is
fine. So, any other (free) programs I should consider trying?
If they're unreliable after reformatting, the drives are going, the
IDE interface is, or the cable's shot. And that IBM is the one they
nicknamed the "DeathStar" iirc.
