I had a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 120gb 7200rpm drive in the Zip bay on my old G4 Mystic DP 450 with no ill effects. The screw holes don't line up so I just left it in there loose. Considering the tower never moved it wasn't really a problem. I had a clone of the RAID 0 setup on the other two HDs, and had it jumpered the slave to the Superdrive's master. Worked fine.
