I use a service called E-Fax, which provides me with a
phone number to give out for my fax, and they will
forward any received faxes to my email. The form the
file takes is a multi page tiff. Until recently
downloading it to the desktop and double clicking on
it would prompt Preview to open it which would allow
for reading or printing. For some reason, the default
application has reverted to OS 9's Picture Viewer.
When I try to correct this and select "open with
other" and check the "always open with" box, I can
make the file open once in Preview. It all looks OK at
this point. However when I go back to check, the file
has reverted its default to expecting Picture Viewer
and OS 9.

Does anybody have any ideas? I do not need 9 and
Picture Viewer to open since we have accomplished
opening it with Preview. I just want OS X.39 to go
back to doing its job with Preview.
