G'day Andrew

I struck a problem when adding a usb card to a rev 1 beige G3 in that it froze the system.

Rev 1 beiges are a problem, so if you have one I suggest you talk to your Apple dealer for a card, and tell them you'll return any that they supply that doen't work.

While you're at it, why not a usb/firewire card? Otherwise, if you want to add firewire later, you'll lose another pci slot.

afaIk, beiges only handle usb 1, which is fine for keyboards, but too slow for external drives.

Hi folks,

I'm running a beige G3 with os 10.2.8 installed. Is there a reliable way to add USB to this machine? What would the approximate cost be?

TIA,
Andrew
