I've got a website up and running now, built with Adobe GoLive on my G4 733 DA, and my ISP provides a weblog of the hits it receives as part of their service. The log sits on their server in my folder as "weblog.txt," which I can download anytime I care to, with Fetch. Can anyone recommend a good weblog analyzer that I can use to examine this log and see what visitors are looking at on the site, where they come from, and all the other statistics a weblog provides?

<http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/> is the pro tool. It'll take a little work setting up, but produces a large bounty of data.

Thanks Bruce. I downloaded and looked at Webalizer, and it appears from the quote below (from its Read-Me file), that a user has to be unix-savvy to run it, which I am not, and I don't really want to start trying to master yet another software learning curve right now (Final Cut, GoLive, Illustrator, InDesign etc. are quite enough for the moment, not to say overwhelming). So, as good as Webalizer looks, I guess I'll have to pass on it.

From Webalizer's Read-me file:

"The Webalizer was designed to be run from a Unix command line prompt or
as a cron job. There are several command line options which will modify
the results it produces, and configuration files can be used as well.
The format of the command line is: webalizer [options ...] [log-file]"

Too cryptic for me, darn it. So, I guess I'll go shopping for some commercial web log analyzer that can be run by mouse-clicking on icons, or something equally simple.

Thanks though,

Tom
