I'm using a Microtek ScanMaker i320. I prefer to use PhotoShop
Elements or Graphic Converter.

This suggests that sthe idea that your scanner file is the
problem. As I said,
some scanners don't supply a color profile or give one that isn't
expected by
the program that sends the information to the printer.
Which scanner are you using?
What graphics program do you prefer to use? You said somthing
about Photoshop
