My modern keyboard has a DVD/CD tray opening button which does
not work in OS 9, is there a *simple* way of regularly opening
the tray on a 933MHz QS of about 2001/2 vintage as one works -
there being, extremely foolishly, no button on the tower? I have
verified I can close it by pushing it (much much harder than on
my 7300) after some comments by you good folk on this matter
once before (in relation to installing software). But opening
has me baffled (I might have forgotten advice about this?
Forgive me)

David,

I also have a modern Apple Pro keyboard which I use with me 933MHz QS.
On the OS 9 CD, IIRC in the Apple Extra's folder is a Control Strip Module called Eject Strip.
That's what I use in the rare cases I use OS 9 and I have to eject a CD.
If you don't have access to that CD I can email you the file if you want.
Oh FYI: it's available for download aswell:
