In case you're wondering where to start looking
for the
NEC chipped USB-2 cards, I've found the ones made by
Belkin
that are in almost every discount office supply store
(Office Depot
and Office Max for starters) to work totally PNP in
G3s, both Beige
and B&W. Since it works in those, I'd expect a G4 to
be even less likely to have trouble with it.
Just make sure the one you pick up is USB-2; they
still sell the USB-1 cards too. You might find a
cheaper source but that's a start.
Also, both a Belkin and a Best/NEC PCI USB-2 card
are available for much less ($16.99 and $11.99) at
xpcgear.com, but I haven't dealt with them. Has
anyone else done so?
